Looking back in time… A must watch!

I was speaking with Julie, my TOG confidant, the other morning and as we always do, we struck up a conversation about the day-to-day stuff that we parents get caught up in with the kids. My kids are young independent adults now, so I said to Julie,”It goes by fast. I didn’t think so when I was in it. But looking back, it seems like it just flew by.” She went to share with me a sentence that her husband had read somewhere and shared with her:
“The days are long but the years are short.”
What powerful and true words! I couldn’t get them out of my mind for a whole day. I went to Google the sentence and lo and behold, up came an author, Gretchen Ruben, whose book, The Happiness Project, has been on my shelf in my “to-read” spot for over a year. Last year, I had even gifted a few friends a “Happiness Project” calendar.
Needless to say, I will be reading this book effective immediately. What’s more is that I went to her site and found this touching piece that I wanted to share with all of you, thanks to Julie and David
